Also, more than 150 dolphins in the past three weeks have become stranded off Cape Cod, with many dying. In 2005 a white beluga whale was seen in the Delaware River, traveling past Salem County as far north as Penn's Landing in Philadelphia.

Beethoven the Beluga Whale (Whale Sounds)

www.pdza.org This video gives a glimpse into the amazing connection between Beethoven -- a 15 year old, 1500 pound Beluga whale -- and his keepers at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington. After an unfortunate turn of events, Beethoven is the only Beluga at the aquarium, and it has been determined that he will be sent to a breeding program in Texas. This video is intended as a remembrance of Beethoven, as an animal ambassador, a good natured being who accepted captivity and flourished, and the years he spent in Washington state bringing smiles to the many people who visited him.
